Tax Manager

 

Responsibilities:

  • Managing the preparation and review of complex federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, businesses, and other entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Leading, mentoring, and supervising a team of tax accountants and professionals, delegating tasks, providing guidance, and ensuring timely completion of work.
  • Developing and implementing tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities for clients, identifying opportunities for tax savings, and advising on the tax implications of business decisions.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships, serving as a point of contact for tax-related inquiries, and providing exceptional client service.
  • Staying up-to-date on current tax laws and regulations, conducting tax research, and ensuring compliance with all applicable requirements.
  • Providing support during tax audits, preparing necessary documentation, and representing clients in interactions with tax authorities.
  • Contributing to the growth of the firm by identifying opportunities for new business and cross-selling other services.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field; CPA or EA is a must
  • 7+ years as Tax Manager in tax at public accounting firm(s)
  • Strong knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and accounting principles, proficiency in tax software (e.g., CCH, ProSystem fx), and experience with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Leads by example exhibiting integrity, energy, enthusiasm, dedication, and commitment
  • Strong organizational & analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Client service oriented
  • Demonstrates the ability and willingness to properly delegate and manage workload and train others on the proper delegation and management of work
  • Aptitude to learn and effectively use multiple software applications
  • Self-starter, able to work independently as well as with a team
