Audit Manager
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of accounting principles, auditing and compliance standards necessary to manage complex engagements.
- Provide guidance/expertise and participation in the performance of audit procedures, collaborate with Partners and other Manages to plan objectives and determine an audit strategy that appropriately addresses risk.
- Successfully manage the audit engagement team against both the original audit plan and the budget and alter if necessary; Supervise multiple engagements simultaneously.
- Perform audit, review and compilation, analytical procedures, work paper preparation and financial statement preparation, including comprehensive footnote disclosures; Preparation of compliance tax returns and other statements related to unique industries.
- Provide effective on-the-job training and supervision, and effectively delegate responsibility to staff; Demonstrate excellence in people development, leadership, and professionalism, responsible for supervising and reviewing the work of others.
- Analyze historical trends and industry economics.
- Understand client problems and demonstrate problem solving creativity.
- Demonstrates an understanding of the audit client’s industry and marketplace.
- Demonstrates advanced technical knowledge effectively through written and verbal communication.
- Preferred experience with nonprofits and employee benefit plans.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA is a must
- 5 - 10 years as Audit Manager (experience in Public Accounting is a plus), preferably in the following areas:
- Non-profit, including Single Audits and Yellow Book
- Employee Benefit Plans
- For-Profit (i.e. Construction, Distribution, etc.)
- Leads by example exhibiting integrity, energy, enthusiasm, dedication, and commitment
- Professional and mature attitude
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of firm and client information
- Effectively communicate through oral and written means
- Client service oriented
- Effectively manage people with poise and professionalism
- Demonstrates the ability to properly delegate and manage workload and train others on the proper delegation and management of work
- Aptitude to learn and effectively use multiple software applications
- Ability to apply principles of accounting to analyze and prepare financial information
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to demonstrate confidence and good judgment when interacting with colleagues, supervisors and clients
- Strong presentation skills
- Self-starter, able to work independently as well as with a team
- Ability to understand all significant aspects of client’s business and accounting system
- Experience with CCH, Pfx Engagement, and QuickBooks is a plus
- Ability and willingness to train and supervise staff
